The entry of Milan into the UNESCO Creative Cities network constituted an important confirmation of the work carried out so far in the field of Literature but also implied a commitment to implementing a qualified program of activities at a national and international level and calls for greater competence in coordination of the different realities linked to the world of books.

With this objective, starting from 2018 an entire schedule dedicated to Milan UNESCO Creative City has been planned as part of the BookCity event. The project involves a different Creative City of Literature for each edition, to encourage the diffusion of the literary heritage. The protagonists of this program - young writers, translators and representatives of institutions linked to the world of books - thus become ambassadors of the literary and cultural tradition of their Creative City of origin.
