Milan collaborates with the other UNESCO Creative Cities by sharing best practices, supporting freedom of speech and implementing projects and initiatives that ensure that literature reaches the widest and most diverse audience possible, at a local and international level.

Together with the Cities of Literature, Milan also promotes activities aimed at spreading knowledge and awareness for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), approved by the United Nations with the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development, essential elements for the growth of a society inclusive.
