XIII UNESCO Conference - Fabriano (2019)

XIII UNESCO Conference - Fabriano (2019)

The XXIII UNESCO Creative Cities Conference took place in Fabriano from 10 to 15 June 2019. The annual meeting of all UNESCO Creative Cities represents the most important international event organized by the UNESCO network and was hosted for the first time in Italy. On this occasion, the city of Fabriano was transformed into an open-air laboratory on creativity, hosting in its historic locations the seven pavilions representing the categories into which the Network is divided.

Milan collaborated in the preparation of the Literature Pavilion, within which the spaces were created for the exhibition of the "Literary trails" project, shared with the other UNESCO Cities of Literature; an opportunity to promote literature as a tool for communicating the history and culture of our cities, expressed in different forms:

- An introductory video to the literary itineraries of the cities that have made literary mapping one of the activities for promoting their urban fabric;

- "UNESCO to read": an international version of the "Milan to read" project with an exhibition of texts from the Cities of Literature;

- Exhibition of the book "Poetic Encounters" and the promotional video created by the city of Heidelberg.
