Milan, March 20 2020 – Coronavirus: numerous initiatives by the Municipality of Milan to address the emergency alongside the most vulnerable categories.
The support network to support the elderly in public housing has been intensified. 5.290 text messages and phone calls were sent to remind us of the basic rules of conduct to be adopted during this period and the telephone numbers useful in emergencies. Not only help with shopping or buying medicines, but also free transport for non-postponable medical visits and psychological support.

Seven temporary hubs have been activated for the home delivery of shopping for less well-off families. One hundred and fifty municipality employees, Third Sector operators and volunteers took to the field to deliver food to thousands of people as long as the measures to contain the Coronavirus are active.

The municipal building in via Carbonia has been made available for people who do not have accommodation, but need to isolate themselves to protect their own health and that of others. The distribution of meals will be guaranteed by Milano Ristorazione, the medical/nursing health care will be ensured by Emergency volunteers.
Other accommodations will soon be available in the city and in the hinterland useful for all emergency-related needs.
