Bike sharing
In total in Milan there are 22.000 bicycles of different types, of which 11.800 are pedal-assisted.
The service includes both the fixed location and free-flow formulas.
- The fixed-location service has been present in Milan since December 2008. It has a fleet of traditional bicycles, pedal-assisted and also with child seats, which can be easily rented in over 300 stations in the Milanese area. The charging system for pedal-assisted bicycles is "environmentally friendly", managed directly by the operator by replacing the batteries in the collection and release stations and recharging in a special site using photovoltaic panels.
- Free-flow Bike Sharing was started on an experimental basis in 2017.
