Transfer ashes or bone remains to another Municipality after ordinary/extraordinary exhumation or exhumation from a cell or columbarium

It is possible for private citizens, or for delegated companies, to request the transfer of ashes or bone remains to another Italian municipality after ordinary exhumation or exhumation from a cell or columbarium.

Request

To issue the transport decree, prepare:

  • a €16,00 revenue stamp to be affixed to the request;
  • consent of: spouse/civil partner or, failing this, the closest relative. If there are multiple relatives of the same degree, everyone's consent is required, accompanied by photocopies of the valid identity documents of each signatory relative;
  • an additional revenue stamp of €16,00 to be affixed to the transport decree issued by the Municipality.

In case of exhumation from a cell or columbarium also prepare:

  • consent from whoever has the concession for the building;
  • in the event of the death of the person having the concession, the consent of: spouse/civil partner or, in the absence of this, the closest relative is required. If there are multiple relatives of the same degree, everyone's consent is required, accompanied by photocopies of the valid identity documents of each signatory relative.

In case of delegate to a company also present:

  • a delegation and a copy of the delegating party's identity document.
