The ideal place to get to know rural civilization up close without leaving the urban agglomeration is Cascina Ronchettone. This oasis of peace is located at the gates of the Southern Agricultural Park, in an area called "Tre Ronchetti", an ancient village near the municipal border with Rozzano.

Here the visitor can find that architectural model of a closed Lombard court functional to the needs of work in the fields and the social aggregation of daily life. Inside there are cows, chickens, geese, rabbits and pigs, to the south there are crops, mainly rice, on a total area of 40 hectares.

The agricultural company has been managed since 1962 by the Ubertone family.

The ancient village of Tre Ronchetti was made up of three hamlets: Ronchettone, Ronchettino and Ronchetto delle Rane. In the Middle Ages, the term ronco or billhook indicated a place deforested and used for agricultural purposes, an operation which required the use of billhook.

Initially dependent on the Basilica of San Lorenzo, it became a parish and autonomous ecclesial community on the initiative of San Carlo and then of Cardinal Federico Borromeo. Thanks to this freedom, its inhabitants were able to exploit the opportunities offered by a rapidly developing world of production and achieved a certain level of well-being by renting the waterholes to rag collectors, who then transformed them into paper.

Tre Ronchetti found himself reunited in Milan in 1873.
