Cascina Rizzardi – Cascina Campi

What do you find in the farmhouse

Children are welcome here. In addition to visiting the farm, they can attend summer camps, equestrian circus and juggling courses and all the initiatives of the Campacavallo association, which has its headquarters here.

The farmhouse, now better known as Cascina Campi from the name of the family who has lived and worked here since 1928, also offers workshops and cultural, educational, recreational activities and internships for groups and schools, including disabled people. It is also a social farm at the center of a project that aims to help children recover at school and provide them with work training.

A small shop offers the sale of eggs, poultry, cured meats, cereals, rice and cheeses.

Located in the ancient village of Trenno, next to the park of the same name, it is part of the ancient rural sites of Milan.

In this agricultural portion stuck in the big city, activities aimed at the public abound. Having seen the cultivable surface area reduce over the years and being easily reachable by the Milanese, this "metropolitan farm" has long been directed towards an agricultural-agritourism activity with an equestrian and educational focus, without however betraying the zootechnical and cereal DNA of the Campi family: visitors can admire the herd of 60 cattle, a stable of 30 horses (also with boarding service), 50 sheep and goats, 20 rabbits and numerous farmyard animals, as well as donkeys and pigs.

The farmhouse was built between 1825 and 1828 on the initiative of Don Bravo, a priest who used it as a shelter for disabled and mentally disabled people and managed to establish a real community.

It then saw various ownerships alternate, until it was finally acquired by the Municipality.
