The news of the week

Milan, 30 November - Taxi vouchers: access to discounted rides has been expanded and simplified. Over ten thousand requests for vouchers for public cars have been received in almost three months. Considering the success of use and the continuation of the emergency caused by the epidemic, the Administration has decided to broaden the criteria for using the benefit, to extend it to new categories and to simplify the accession methods.
The taxi vouchers, financed with 700 thousand euros, bring with them a second purpose: to relaunch and support the work of taxi drivers who can thus continue to provide a very useful service for the city.

Civic crowdfunding: raised more than 60 thousand euros in just three weeks. An urban vegetable garden in Niguarda, a theatrical installation inspired by Rodari set up in 13 libraries and a family club in the Isola district are the three projects that have passed the web's judgment, raising more than 60 thousand euros in donations, thanks to the contribution of over 900 citizens.
The restrictions linked to the health emergency have not extinguished the Milanese desire to feel involved and contribute to ideas that aim to improve the quality of life in the neighborhoods and contribute to growing the sense of community. It is still possible to support the other 4 projects among the first 7 selected of the second edition of Civic Crowdfunding, while fundraising for the further 13 proposals will start in the first months of 2021.

Illuminations: Milanese Christmas will light up in the name of hope and sobriety starting from December 1st. Thanks to the synergy between the municipal administration, Confcommercio Milano, street associations and private sponsors, the city will be able to illuminate itself in a widespread way even in a year marked by many difficulties.
Together with the usual commercial axes, Corso Buenos Aires, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Corso Venezia and Via Dante, the streets outside the ring road will be enhanced, such as Viale Monza, Via Saponaro in Gratosoglio, Piazza Anita Garibaldi in Baggio or Via De Roberto in Quarto Oggiaro.
To encourage and support further light installations in the decentralized neighborhoods of the city, the Municipality of Milan has made available a further contribution of 75 thousand euros which can be used by 9 December, for a maximum of 3 thousand euros for each individual project.
