Civic crowdfunding. In just three weeks we raised more than 60 thousand euros

Three proposals have already reached the goal thanks to donations from over 900 Milanese. Tajani: “Numbers that excite and demonstrate the desire of citizens to contribute to the creation of projects useful to the city”

Milan, November 24 2020 – Success for civic crowdfunding. Citizens are attentive and involved in initiatives that relaunch neighborhoods and the sense of community. In just three weeks from the presentation of the platform Civic crowdfunding, promoted by the Municipality of Milan and created in collaboration with Produzioni dal basso, the first Italian crowdfunding and social innovation platform, and Ginger crowdfunding, there are already three projects that have passed the web's judgment, raising more than 60 thousand euros in donations, thanks to the contribution of over 900 citizens.

“Encouraging numbers achieved in such a short time which demonstrate how, despite the difficulties dictated by the extension of the Covid emergency, the desire among the Milanese to participate and contribute to projects that improve the quality of life in the city and in the neighborhoods has remained unchanged tangible - comments the councilor for employment policies, productive activities and trade, Cristina Tajani -. I invite those who have not done so to participate even with small and symbolic sums. Many small donations together will allow us to carry out useful projects, which are good for the city and also contribute to growing our sense of community".

An urban vegetable garden in the heart of Niguarda, a theatrical installation inspired by Gianni Rodari set up in 13 Milanese libraries and a family club in the Isola district: these are the first 3 of the 7 projects launched as part of the second edition of the Civic crowdfunding who achieved the objective of 40% of the budget raised through donations, thus obtaining co-financing from the Municipality of Milan for the remaining 60%, up to a maximum of 60 thousand euros.

Currently, on the platform it is possible to support 7 projects out of the 20 selected from the call launched last June by the Municipality; fundraising for the other 13 will start between January and February 2021.

Of the 7 projects for which fundraising is currently underway, there are 3 that have already reached the fundraising target and which it is still possible to discover and support: Giovannino Perdigiorno goes to the library, whose aim is to create a creative theatrical installation inspired by the poetics of Gianni Rodari, accessible free of charge for 20 days in 13 libraries in as many neighborhoods of Milan; We give space to families, a project born in the heart of the Isola district which aims to redevelop an abandoned restaurant by transforming it into a club for families, which will also host a coworking space, allowing parents to work while remaining with their children and, finally, That green at the end of the tunnel, an urban garden in Niguarda that citizens can cultivate directly and which, during the confinement last spring, allowed many families in difficulty to receive fresh fruit and vegetables, representing a perfect example of social cohesion. The aim of the fundraising is to enhance the production capacity of the garden, installing tunnel greenhouses and implementing sustainable cultivation.

The collections of the other 4 projects also continue and we can all be protagonists in reaching our goal: climBinG, climbing under the Greco tracks, the aim of which is to create a climbing wall that is free and accessible to all, which becomes a meeting and sharing point for citizens of all ages; White Nursery - Accurate contexts for growth and sociality, a project dedicated to families living in the Redo Mezzate neighborhood and which was created to respond to the needs of education, sociality and care, through the establishment of nursery schools and psychotherapy courses; Lab Barona: collaborate, exchange, share, which involves the setting up of a Repair café where everyone can bring objects to be repaired and which acts as a model for spreading the culture of recycling and Re-Porta Vittoria, a community that is reborn, a project that has music as the protagonist and which involves the neighborhoods of Vittoria, Umbria and Molise to organize 8 musical and clowning workshops aimed at all the inhabitants.
