The Risorgimento Museum in collaboration with Aster, the official concessionaire of Educational Services, offers a rich calendar of visits on weekends for adults, boys and girls and the people who accompany them, laboratory visits to tell its story from ever new and different perspectives.

THE RISORGAMENTO MUSEUM – guided tour for adults 

The visit to the Risorgimento Museum develops as a careful, engaging and informative narration of the historical events and the plurality of cultures and institutions from 1796 to 1870. The main protagonists of the story are Milan and Lombardy but it also moves outside the Lombard borders with Mazzini and the sculptures of writers and politicians. From the Risorgimento struggles in Milan, with objects and depictions of the barricades and the tricolors of the Five Days, we move on to the First War of Independence, the Roman Republic and the other Wars of Independence well described by the works on display including sculptures, canvases, weapons, uniforms , proclamations, notices and bulletins.

Napoleon's bees and the lion of Venice, nature in the Risorgimento (visit with workshop for children aged 7-10 years) 

Napoleon's bees and the rosettes on his precious cloak, the imperial eagle and the lion of Venice but also the oak and laurel leaves on the banners populate the rooms of the Risorgimento Museum. During the visit we will observe all these depictions of nature and discover their meanings by drawing them from life just like true artists. The visit is organized in the context of Let's design Art 2024, the spring event organized by Abbonamento Musei to introduce children to museums through drawing.

TELL ME A STORY - visit with activities in the museum for children aged 7-11 

A journey in stages through history observing paintings and relics such as Napoleon's cloak, the soldiers' uniforms or the simple red shirts of the Garibaldini, all testimonies that can easily be associated with knowledge and memories of one's usual experience, such as the apron worn at school or the cape of a superhero, with the aim of making people understand, through the concreteness of the experience, the value of testimony played by the objects exhibited in the museum. At the end of the visit, a workshop in which we will rework together the portraits of famous people such as Napoleon or Vittorio Emanuele.

During the frenetic days of the Fuori Salone, let's take a short break and discover a hidden corner among the streets of fashion and design that tells us about a fundamental moment in the history of Italy: a short journey among paintings, artists and relics such as the crown of Napoleon and the cloak embroidered in gold and silver that the emperor wore on the occasion of his coronation as king of Italy in the Milan Cathedral.
