Piazza Martiri della Deportazione, 1

It was built in the early 1900s. It includes the old cemetery of the Municipality of Bruzzano. It has an area of ​​195.000 m35.550 of which XNUMX mXNUMX is green.

The structure is an integral part of the North Milan Park and will be flanked by a cycle path, along the course of the Seveso stream, which will connect the municipalities of Cormano and Bresso to the center of the park.

Town Hall 5 - via Sant'Arialdo

Inaugurated in 1936, the cemetery is located in the Southern Milan Agricultural Park and is close to the Santa Maria di Chiaravalle Abbey of the Cistercian Order. It covers an area of ​​82.000 m17.500 with a total green area of ​​XNUMX mXNUMX.

In the old part, the red brick architectural style with which the surrounding walls and the ossuary and columbarium galleries were built is noteworthy.

It is located within the city district of the same name and was the cemetery of the Municipality of Greco.

It has an area of ​​38.000 m2.200 of which XNUMX mXNUMX are green areas. It is bordered by a cycle path that connects it to the new Bicocca area, home to the university and the Arcimboldi theatre.

Town Hall 3 - Fallen and Missing in Russia square

It covers an area of ​​230.000 m30.000 with a green area of ​​90 mXNUMX. It is characterized by its nature as a "garden cemetery": it is near the Lambro Park, on the border with the municipality of Segrate and in the early XNUMXs the monumental fountain that adorns the entrance was inaugurated. Inside the cemetery there is an area intended for the burial of deceased people of the Islamic religion.  
Inside the Lambrate cemetery the Garden of Remembrance place where the ashes of one's deceased persons can be scattered.

Square Fallen and Missing in Russia

It is located north-east of the entrance to the Lambrate cemetery: built in 1988, it is surrounded by a pond and cinerary departments. It houses a multifunctional room intended for holding rites of religions other than Catholic or secular rites.

Town Hall 8 - Piazzale Cimitero Maggiore

Inaugurated in 1895 and designed by Mazzocchi engineers, it is the largest cemetery in the city. It has a total surface area of ​​678.624 m80.000. of which mXNUMX. XNUMX destined for greenery.
The safety of the cemetery is guaranteed by a tele-aid system using SOS columns, active 24 hours a day and installed in the fields, in the columbarium departments and in the ossuaries.

Worked by Carlo Maciachini and inaugurated in 1867, thanks to its sculptural and architectural heritage it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the city. Town Hall 2 - Little Martyrs Square

It is the monument that contains the remains of 200 children and their teachers, who died under the Allied bombings that destroyed an elementary school in the Gorla district. A memorial ceremony takes place every year on October 20.

Town Hall 1 - Largo Milanese Fallen for the Homeland (in front of the State Police barracks).

The Shrine of the Fallen is made up of two buildings:

  • the War Memorial, created in 1928 by Giovanni Muzio with the collaboration of Alpago Novello, Ottavio Cabiati, Giò Ponti and Tommaso Buzzi, is an external octagonal temple - in memory of the eight gates of the city - and narrates the deeds and battles of the fallen for the country;
  • the Shrine designed by Mario Baccini in 1973 is spread over three underground levels and collects the remains of the fallen for whom clearance was issued by the Ministry of Defense - War Honors Commission.

Inside, the Guard of Honor Service carried out by the Friends of the Shrine and the Tricolore Association is active.
