Trijoint Council Commission Mobility-Environment-Green-Animals,Security-Social Cohesion e Olympics-Paralympics Milan Cortina 2026 (Chaired by Councilor Monguzzi Carlo, Councilor Michele Albiani and Councilor Giungi Alessandro)
Agenda: Presentation of the safety program for the "Olympic Routes", i.e. the set of routes that connect the main metro stations to the 2026 Olympic sites located within the Municipality of Milan (a system of over 80 linear km of pavements and crossings ), eliminating as many architectural and sensorial barriers as possible and, when necessary, also using road safety tools such as speed reduction, greater visibility of signs and spaces dedicated to crossing, in addition to reshaping or structural raising of the intersections. They will be present:

  • the Councilors Granelli, Riva and Censi;
  • Dr. Elena Sala, Director of the Mobility Management Area of ​​the Municipality of Milan;
  • the engineer Marcello Oneta, Director of the Mobility Department of the Municipality of Milan;

  • dr. Leonardo Cardo, of the Acondrodiplasia Association - Insieme per crescendo and of the Castorina Mantovani Foundation;

OUTCOME:

The AMAT representatives presented a study carried out regarding the architectural barriers to be eliminated in the Olympic and Paralympic routes, in view of the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympics.

Joint Council Commission Education-Food Policy e Special Civil Economy and Third Sector Development (Presided over by Councilor Pontone Marzia and Councilor Pedroni Valerio)
Agenda: "Strengthening food waste hubs through co-programming with the third sector". Will participate:

  • Deputy Mayor, Councilor for Education: Anna Scavuzzo;
  • Director of the Food Policy Area, Education Directorate: Andrea Magarini


OUTCOME:

The Deputy Mayor took stock of the situation on the planning and co-planning path which involves public entities, the third sector and private individuals with respect to the problem of food waste through the Food Policy project implemented starting from 2018 with the birth of the first anti-waste hub .
He underlined that the city of Milan in 2021 was the winner of the prestigious international "Earthshot Prize" relating to Best Practices to protect the environment with the pilot project of neighborhood hubs against food waste. 
He illustrated how for the path being defined, public governance is fundamental, acting as a subsidiary tool for the needs of citizens in a path of sustainability that passes through partnership and the contribution of multiple skills. 
The Councilors asked questions relating to the topic which were fully answered.

Joint Council Commission  Control of Participatory Bodies ed Education-Food Policy (Presided over by Councilor Pontone Marzia and Councilor Bestetti Marco)
Agenda: Foreign body incident in a sandwich - measures taken and initiatives undertaken by Milano Ristorazione SpA. The following were invited:

  • the Councilor for Education, Anna Scavuzzo,
  • the Councilor for Budget and Real Estate, Emmanuel Conte.

Will participate:

  • dr. Bernardo Notarangelo - Resigning President of Milano Ristorazione SpA.

OUTCOME:

The Councilor for Education, with the help of her Director, the resigning President of Milano Ristorazione and some members of the Board of Directors of this company, reported that the episode of the bolt found in the sandwich was attributable to a problem that arose on a hopper of an external supplier to whom a sanction has been applied and the possibility of requesting further compensation for the damage to image caused by the episode is being assessed. The ongoing procedures and further ones that will be adopted to prevent similar events were illustrated. The Councilors appreciated what was stated and underlined the good quality of the meals provided by Milano Ristorazione.
