The council commissions were created to better organize the work of the municipal council.

Each commission has different tasks: it investigates the problems relating to a particular sector, examines and expresses opinions on initiatives and proposals which will then be discussed and possibly approved by the Municipal Council and supervises the activities of the Municipality's offices and companies.
Each commission is made up of a certain number of councilors chosen by the municipal council in order to respect, in proportion, its political composition.
The commissions elect a President and a Vice President from among their members.
Each commission reports on matters of competence to a department.
Their sessions are open to all citizens.

From November 17, 2022, @MilanoCommissioniConsiliari is the new way to assist in directed to Council Commissions or consult those already passed in a deferred manner.  It will no longer be necessary to ask for any authorization.
