Agenda: Inspection of the Ronald McDonald Children's Foundation c/o NIGUARDA. Will participate:

  • Maria Chiara Roti, General Director of the Ronald McDonald Italy Children's Foundation;

OUTCOME:

The managers of the Ronald Mc Donald Italia Children's Foundation and the leaders of the Department of Neonatology and Neonatal Intensive Care of the Niguarda Hospital illustrated the institutional objectives of the same Foundation as well as the initiatives undertaken, in the internal spaces of the specialist division, and those about to leave (Casa Ronald in via Bramante 31). The main services offered by F.ne mostly concern healthcare migration or through the availability of equipped environments, both for work and for overnight stays (Family Room), for family members in spaces adjacent to the ward where the children coming from from outside the province or beyond. It was also an opportunity to listen to the testimonies of some parents on the quality of the services offered to them.

Joint Council Commission Equal Opportunities - Civil Rights e Urban Regeneration (Chaired by Councilor De Marchi Diana and Councilor Ceccarelli Bruno)
Agenda:Presentation of the Urban Center publication: "Free, not courageous" by Azzurra Muzzonigro and Florencia Andreola. The following were invited to the Commission's work:

  • Giancarlo Tancredi, Councilor for Urban Regeneration;
  • Gaia Romani, Councilor for Civic and General Services;
  • Simona Collarini, Director of the Urban Regeneration Department;
  • Paola Velluto, Head of the Urban Center Unit and Design Competitions;
  • Elena Lattuada, Mayor's Delegate for Gender Equal Opportunities;
  • Azzurra Muzzonigro and Florencia Andreola, authors.

OUTCOME:

In the presence of the Councilor for Civic and General Services and the Councilor for Urban Regeneration, the research entitled "Free, not courageous" was presented, the publication of which was edited by the Urban Center. This is a detailed research that probes the theme of the perception of danger and the consequent fear experienced by women in relation to public spaces, especially streets and squares in the evening and night hours. The authors examined the psychological strategies for preventing this increasingly widespread malaise in relation to the urban context, and therefore involving in their analyzes everything that concerns the "construction" of public space and therefore directly also the urban planning choices of the our cities. The councilors present were able to express their approval for studies of this type, which broaden awareness of the conception of public places, as well as the intrinsic possibilities of being experienced as such.

Agenda: "The future of the Alzheimer Network Meeting Centers, due to the imminent expiration of the service on 31/03/pv" Participants will be:

OUTCOME:

The Councilor for Welfare and Health, the Director of the Health and Community Services Area and the speakers invited to the Commission provided specifications relating to the future of the Alzheimer Network Meeting Centres. It was highlighted that the Municipality of Milan, in collaboration with ATS Milano-Città Metropolitana, health and social-healthcare bodies, and various Third Sector entities, has activated a Network made up of coordinated activities on the topic of cognitive decline and dementia in a with a view not only to helping in the pre- and post-diagnostic phase of the disease, but also to supporting families. The Councilors asked questions on the merits which were given exhaustive answers.

Agenda:Presentation of The Children of Nsinda project for Rwandan school students. Will participate:

OUTCOME:

A teacher and some students from the Zaccaria Institute presented the project "The children fo Nsinda" which aims, with the support of the Rotary Club, to support and help, with the supply of school materials, a school located in the city of Rwamagana in Rwanda, attended by approximately 1.500 students. A fundraiser was launched in which the Rotary Club also participated and the City Councilors also offered their support.

Agenda: “Emotions at the Opera” project. Participants will be:

  • Head of Social and Work Integration Unit/Labor Mediation Center - Rights and Inclusion Area - Welfare and Health Directorate: Monica Gasparini;

  • Head of the Il Camaleonte psychiatric day center of the Sacra Famiglia ONLUS Foundation: Barbara Migliavacca.

OUTCOME:

The Manager of the Il Camaleonte psychiatric day center and the Director of Health Services and Intermediate Care of the Sacra Famiglia Onlus Foundation illustrated to the Commission the "Emotions at Opera" project, which has as its protagonists some inmates of the Opera prison and some patients of the Il Camaleonte psychiatric day centre. The Commission congratulated itself on the excellent project, which could be a valid example to follow also in other prison situations.

OUTCOME:

The Trade Unions and the RSUs of the PL highlighted the points of criticism towards the Administration which led them to call the state of agitation, expressed in various ways. They reiterated their requests to obtain the opening of a negotiation table and the simultaneous withdrawal of the suspension provision of the 2002 contract. They underlined the agents' willingness to cover evening and night shifts, as agreed in the contract. The Councilor underlined the Administration's commitment to strengthening the Local Police Force and lists the actions that are intended to be implemented to this end; he specified the need to suspend the 2002 contract in order not to implement the automatic renewal and to achieve its revision. Some councilors have stigmatized the Administration's actions which led to the loss of 500 agents in just a few years; they urged to open the negotiation table requested by the Trade Unions and RSU and highlighted the complete willingness of the workers to fulfill the contract; they complained about the absence of the Commander and advisor to the Mayor from the session, as well as asking for a subsequent session on the topic to be convened. Other councilors declared themselves convinced that the outcome of the discussion will lead to having a PL Corps. strengthened, while the Administration's work will lead to an increase in the number of hirings.

Agenda:"Presentation of the report on economic violence What's yours is mine" Will be present:

OUTCOME:

The guests illustrated the contents of the survey "What's yours is mine" carried out by the humanitarian organization We World on economic violence, i.e. all behaviors aimed at controlling a woman's ability to acquire, use and maintain economic resources. They also highlighted that in the Italian legal system, economic violence is not considered a specific crime, that 37% of women in Italy do not have a current account and that 49% of the women interviewed declared that they had suffered economic violence in their lives , a percentage that rises to 67% among divorced or separated women.
The Presidents expressed their praise for the investigation conducted.
