OUTCOME:

The guests announced that the Beccaria Institute, which today hosts 29 children, has not recorded cases of Covid-19 infection, except for a small number of people among the staff, and has continued to offer school lessons both remotely both in presence and activities such as music, cooking and theater workshops. The delays of the healthcare system in providing adequate therapeutic support to children with psychological problems, often linked to drug use, were also highlighted. It was also made known that, upon completion of the renovation works, the Institute will be able to accommodate 60/70 children. A debate followed during which some Councilors intervened on the merits.

OUTCOME:

The President and Vice President of the Europa Donna Association (born from an idea by Umberto Veronesi, part of the European Coalition and present throughout the national territory) illustrated its history as well as the aims, organization and initiatives that characterize its action (psychological support, prevention, care and awareness among private individuals and public institutions). It was also reported that, during the health emergency, many women, fearing contracting Covid-19, renounced the mammography exam and this produced a significant increase in the number of breast cancers. A further reflection concerned the protection of women's rights in the treatment and prevention of breast cancer and in particular, the maintenance of a job, which is not always guaranteed, for women returning from long periods of absence due to illness.

OUTCOME:

A researcher from the Department of Clinical and Community Sciences of the University of Milan presented a study on the personal exposure to Black Carbon of children in Milan. The result was a debate, which involved the Councillors, the President of the Commission and the researcher himself, who answered exhaustively the questions posed to him.

OUTCOME:

The Stradearts association presented the CORBA project interesting the so-called "Village of Flowers" which involves the creation of works painted by Graffit Writing and Street Art artists with the Winter Olympics as their theme on 38 identical blind facades of the houses that make up the neighbourhood. which will take place in 2026. In the current year, an initial intervention will be carried out on 10 facades and the remaining will be painted in subsequent years. The main objective of the project is to transform this historic district of Milan into a district of contemporary public art capable of involving the local community and the theme chosen is the Olympic one given the proximity to the Agorà ice rink which will be used as an training for all international teams involved in the Games. All the Councilors expressed their appreciation for the initiative and offered some suggestions to improve its performance.

OUTCOME:

The Councilor for Social and Housing Policies and the Director of the Social Policies Directorate provided specifications regarding the bridge contract for the management of Casa Jannacci, highlighting that the Administration, while not deviating from the objective of rationalizing and merging the necessary assignments for the conduct of operational management, it wants to avoid adding the problems linked to the restructuring intervention to those due to the inclusion of a new service manager; therefore considers it appropriate to proceed with a transition period from the current management to that entrusted overall to a single third party, maintaining responsibility for management. The assignment of the management service of the House is assumed for 12 months, renewable. The Councilors and representatives of the Trade Unions, invited to the commission, raised their doubts on the merits. Since the time available had run out and the debate had not been exhausted, the Presidents decided to postpone the discussion of the topic to a further commission.

Agenda: "Steam Factory: management outcomes and improvement interventions" Participants will be:

OUTCOME:

The session focused on the current situation of the Steam Factory. The Deputy Mayor, as well as Councilor for Security, assisted by the Director of the Youth Area, presented the results of the management of recent years, illustrating opportunities and weak points, in particular focusing on the proposals for improvement interventions. The councilors present were able to request clarifications and insights to which exhaustive answers were provided.

OUTCOME:

A delegation from the Subcommission went to the CPR in via Corelli to view its structure and organisation. The co-op. Who manages the CPR, and the police forces who have the task of supervising the structure illustrated its functioning and answered the questions posed by the councilors present.

OUTCOME:

The Councilor for Education and the Councilor for Culture drew attention to the economic difficulties that have affected the street art sector due to the pandemic and recognized the opportunity to plan a future resumption of cultural activities, in view of an improvement in the epidemiological situation. The Councilors highlighted that the street artists category did not receive any type of compensation. The representatives of the trade associations have announced that they will present a document to the Prefecture containing their proposals to deal with the emergency situation. Councilor Galimberti has expressed his willingness to convene a discussion table with the trade associations.

OUTCOME:

The Councilor, recalling the prevention and safety measures adopted by the Administration during the Covid-19 pandemic for schools of all levels, pointed out how the sudden closure of schools ordered by the Lombardy Region for today , despite understanding the reasons linked to the spread of the variants, has created many organizational problems for both families and schools. The school manager for ATS Milan showed some slides with data relating to the progress of the pandemic in schools and emphasized the importance of inter-institutional collaboration to guarantee the restart of in-person schools next September and intercept the questions coming from themselves. A debate followed during which some Councilors intervened on the merits.
