Direct sales agricultural markets
In Milan it is possible to purchase agricultural products directly from farmers also thanks to a Municipality project.
There are nine agricultural markets where producers exhibit and sell to the public. These are companies from Lombardy or the nearest extra-regional provinces, therefore a trade that has a close link with the territory and almost zero kilometer.
The direct sales markets by farmers are the result of an experiment launched by the Municipality of Milan during the Expo 2015 period.
Starting from the initial choice of 53 city areas, we moved on to select and award fifteen of them to as many "Market Representatives". The nine markets currently authorized are those that have passed the run-in period due to their success among consumers.
