Pterocaria VTA 45263

The Caucasian walnut in Sempione Park grows near a body of water which allows it not to suffer from summer drought.

It is native to the Caucasian area. Together with that of the Montanelli Gardens (Pterocaria VTA 36443), it is the oldest pterocaria among those present in the city.

Although it can exceed 30 meters in height, this specimen is not very tall and its trunk reaches a maximum diameter of 148 centimetres.

Gray Herons often find refreshment among the branches that extend over the pond.
