Plane tree VTA 43474
The VTA 43474 plane tree in the Montanelli Gardens was included in an experimental cycle to evaluate the extent of biodiversity hosted in the foliage and on the trunk.
The tree is 30 meters high and has a diameter measured at breast height of 160 centimetres.
To preserve the roots which are "spread" on the stump wall, a fence has been built which prevents them from being damaged by the passage of service vehicles.
Its branches have weak attachments to the trunk, which have been consolidated with anchor cables to avoid shortening them.
