With its 35 meters of height, the Platano of Villa Belgiojoso is one of the tallest trees in the city. Even the diameter, which exceeds 190 centimeters in width, is very respectable and the majestic and solitary foliage stands out above all the other plants in the Garden.
The great plane tree, like its other similar trees, is constantly monitored because the species is affected by "Ceratocystis fimbriata", a pathology that can cause its death within a few agronomic seasons.
