General Urban Traffic Plan

The General Urban Traffic Plan is aimed at improving circulation conditions and road safety, reducing air and noise pollution, limiting energy consumption and respecting environmental values.

In 2022, with a specific resolution, the process of updating the General Urban Traffic Plan and the updating of the Urban Parking Program of the Municipality of Milan, and the related Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) process was started.

With this start, the Administration intended, in relation to the various measures taken from 2013 to today for the containment of vehicular traffic, to update the PGTU and update the PUP and verify their consistency with the choices adopted by the Administration.

This choice is determined by the observation relating to the need to respond to the emerging needs of the city in terms of sustainable development of mobility in the entire metropolitan area.

In 2013, with a resolution of the City Council, the update of the General Urban Traffic Plan was definitively adopted.
