Welfare. Seven spaces to give a "home" to associations and volunteers

Milan, March 16 2022 – Liven up the neighbourhoods, involve citizens and support the associations and volunteers who work in the city. This is the objective of the Houses of Associations and Volunteering, territorial centers and places of animation of the associative fabric, in which registered organizations have free access to carry out activities for the benefit of the community and in line with their mission. The Houses offer their members rotating workstations and spaces to organize training courses, socio-recreational activities, workshops and public meetings. The associations, in addition to the opportunity to use the spaces, have the opportunity to meet other associations and receive useful information on opportunities for the third sector.

There are seven public spaces currently used as houses for associations and volunteers and are located in via Marsala 8 (Town Hall 1), via Miramare 9 (Town Hall 2), via Saponaro 20 (Town Hall 5), via Balsamo Crivelli 5 (Town Hall 6) , piazza Cesare Stovani 3 (Town Hall 7), via Felice Orsini 21 (Town Hall 8), via Bovisasca 173 (Town Hall 9). For information on the activities and methods of registration at each House, the associations can write to the address of the House of the municipality of reference.

Houses of associations and volunteers

The Houses are today the place where collaboration between the public administration, the Third Sector and citizens is established, a space open to those who believe in community welfare and in virtuous collaboration between the public and private sectors.

In consideration of their social value, the Welfare and Health Department has started a co-planning with On!-Srl Social enterprise, Parallel itineraries e CSV Milan to promote and relaunch the Houses as community spaces. After an initial listening phase, the associations registered with the Houses were involved in a training course held by sector professionals. An opportunity not only to increase the skills of individual volunteers, but also to create new relationships between associations that work on similar topics or that wish to put their skills at the service of the community. The Houses have also become a space for experimentation thanks to the "Living labs", open and creative laboratories, in which associations collaborate to build innovative solutions.
