Building and socio-cultural relaunch by private social entities. Tasca: “Virtuous path that enhances heritage and returns spaces to the city”

Milan, July 24 2021 – The first seven abandoned properties owned by the Municipality were assigned to as many private social operators, at the end of a public notice procedure which lasted a few months. The proposals contain projects for the building recovery of the assets, with substantial economic investments by the assignees who enhance the real estate assets. Projects that involve the relaunch of spaces with socio-cultural and educational activities aimed at local communities.

“It was an important journey to have identified assets that had been disused for too long and to have successfully attempted to return them to the city – states Roberto Tasca, councilor for State Property -. Through public tenders, we managed to combine the need to economically valorise their use with an intended use with a socio-cultural vocation, so as to generate a virtuous impact on the life of the community. This is only the first part of the assignments which include a total of 26 properties including farmhouses and disused premises in various city districts. I thank the offices for the work of these years in the recovery of all the forgotten state property which will now have a second life".

The farmhouse in via Taverna 75 was awarded to the Paletti Ricci Onlus Foundation - Vidas Foundation, which will establish new residences for families with minors being treated in Lombardy centres. A project that involves an investment by Vidas of almost 4 million euros for the complete redevelopment of the property, with a fee of 162 thousand euros for the duration of the surface right. And a benefit for the city in services quantified at 9 million euros.

Almost 13 million euros are the investments, again by the Paletti Ricci Onlus Foundation - Vidas Foundation, for the recovery of the farmhouse in Via Taverna 72 where light residential services for the elderly will be located. The foundations will pay 180 thousand euros in rent for the duration of the surface right and will provide services to the city for 11 million euros.

Fabbrica Ghiaccioli Kociss snc will relaunch the building in via Rizzoli 13 A, with an agreement that provides for 50 thousand euros of investment in works and an annual rent of 275 thousand euros for the creation of an ice cream making school with the subsequent possibility of opening of a point of sale.

The British School of Milan, on the other hand, was awarded the purchase, with 625 thousand euros, of the area of ​​via Marazzani for the opening of a school building with services intended for citizens (1 million euros per year allocated to scholarships and lessons to the local community).

The farmhouse in via Celio-Paravia 22 will be renovated by the Terzo Luogo ETS Foundation which will pay a fee of 297 thousand euros for the duration of the surface right and will invest 9,3 million euros to create a cultural-educational space (multimedia library, services for childhood, creativity and training workshops) which will provide services quantified at 3 million euros per year.

The abandoned premises in via Graf Arturo 29 will come back to life thanks to the project of the Arché Onlus Foundation, which purchased the site for 600 thousand euros and plans to establish a social restaurant, a local health center, a nursery and a mother-child community, with an impact of services in favor of the territory quantified at 4 million euros.

Finally, the All Family association will recover the spaces in via Bianchi d'Espinoza 7 for the establishment of socio-cultural activities in the free spaces, organized by the associations already present in the occupied spaces. The annual rent is 20 euros per square meter.
