Milan, October 3 2022 – Institutional meetings and meetings with the financial community, photographic and fashion exhibitions and the signing of an agreement for collaboration and cultural exchanges between the castles of the two cities: this is the program of the three days which from today sees a delegation of Osaka, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the twinning between the two cities.

In the background the experience of the Universal Exhibition, which saw Milan as the protagonist in 2015 and which will be hosted by Osaka in 2025 with the theme "Designing future society for our lives".

The Japanese delegation was welcomed this morning at Palazzo Marino by the deputy mayor Anna Scavuzzo, who met the deputy mayor Takahashi Toru, and by the President of the City Council Elena Buscemi who, together with the President of the Council Commission on International Policies Carmine Pacente and the President of the Council Commission on Culture Luca Costamagna, welcomed the Consul General of Japan Amamya Yuyi, the President of the Osaka City Council, Ohashi Kazutaka, and a representative of the city assembly.

Also today, the program of the visit includes a meeting between the Councilor for Culture Tommaso Sacchi and the Deputy Mayor Takahashi and the signing between the directors of the Sforzesco Castle and the Osaka Castle of a letter of intent for future exchanges and collaborations. For the occasion, the photographic journey "The Four Seasons at Osaka Castle" will be exhibited until October 17th in the Cortile della Rocchetta.

On 5 October the councilor for Economic Development and Labor Policies Alessia Cappello will participate in the Business investment seminar on the attractiveness of Osaka, which will be held at Palazzo Giureconsulti.

The three days also includes the exhibition of fashion creations entitled "Fatto a mano", jointly organized by the Istituto Marangoni and the UEDA College of fashion, which can be visited from tomorrow to 10 October at Palazzo Morando.

The Osaka delegation will then visit the Porta Nuova area, the Vertical Forest, subsequently AMAT will present the Open Roads - Buenos Aires tactical urbanism project.

The tour will end with lessons learned and a visit to the former Expo area organized by Arexpo.

Milan and Osaka have been twinned since 1981. Due to Covid, the 40th anniversary is celebrated this year.
