Corrections of birth, marriage, citizenship and death certificates

Corrections can occur in the following cases:

  • material errors committed at the time of drafting the deed, provided that the correction does not assign, modify or deny the rights of the affected parties
  • following an appeal promoted before the Ordinary Court of voluntary jurisdiction in the case of:
    • reconstruction of a destroyed, lost and/or omitted document
    • opposition to a refusal exercised by the civil registrar to receive in whole or in part a request for transcription, annotation or other fulfillment
  • exact indication of the name
    • people born before 30.03.2001 in Milan who were given, at the time of birth, a name composed of several elements, even if separated from each other, can request to modify the indication with which the elements of their name must be reported first name.

  • To access the service it is mandatory to collect the call number (ND code) from the Civil Status Atrium Room (on the same floor)
  • Once the maximum number of tickets that can be issued during the time has been reached, free access may be limited.
