Authentication of change of ownership: registered vehicles and movable property

Signatures of deeds and declarations of alienation of registered movable property and trailers can be authenticated in the municipal offices.

The seller must fill in the sales declaration (box T first part) on the back of the certificate of ownership, completing it with the buyer's personal data.

By express provision of the Ministry of the Interior, the authentication must be carried out with stamp duty and its cost is €16,52.
To authenticate the transfer of ownership, you must present your valid identity document.
The seller's signature must be affixed in the presence of the registry officer who will provide authentication.
Within 60 days the buyer must register the change by delivering the certificate of ownership and the vehicle registration document to the offices of the Public Automotive Registry.

Important:

  • show up 15 days before the date of the event that determines the urgency (e.g. notary appointment)
  • emergencies must be justified and documented. That is, it is necessary to bring certification of the urgency (e.g. certification of a notary appointment, etc.)
