The Mayor's Cabinet supports the Mayor in his administrative and political-institutional functions.
Directed and coordinated by the Chief of Staff, it is divided into the following organizational units:

• Mayor's Cabinet Area e management of relationships with participated entities: takes care of the procedures for the nomination and designation of representatives of the Municipality of Milan in the entities and investee companies, manages the disbursement of contributions to entities, associations, institutions and religious authorities, manages the representation expenses of the Mayor and Councilors , manages relationships with investee companies and entities, taking care of the activities related to their ordinary and extraordinary governance.

• General Affairs Area: manages the staff, takes care of the quality in the ISO 90001:2015 system, the application of the privacy legislation, the management of the budget and the application of Legislative Decree 81/2008, the monitoring of the operational models for the prevention of corruption and the relevant obligations of transparency and the state of implementation of the programs, the updating of the objectives. Coordinates the guided tour service at Palazzo Marino and the unique Palace protocol. It deals with the preparation of civic ceremonies and the valorisation of Palazzo Marino.

• Internal Auditing Area: coordination and implementation of auditing activities aimed at ensuring compliance with the correctness, adequacy, traceability and legitimacy of processes, procedures and operating models adopted by the Administration; support and consultancy for the optimization of the internal control system; assessment of risks connected to inadequacies or problems both internal to the system and external.

• International Relations Area: manages international institutional relations; promotes the image and international presence of the city; supports the international community resident in Milan, also through relations with the Consular Corps and other international bodies in the area; coordinates international activities in the city, supporting cultural events, technical visits, scientific exchanges and others; builds and strengthens international partnerships and enhances the strategic participation of Milan; coordinates participation in city networks and other international initiatives; searches for funds and manages initiatives and projects of cooperation between cities and international solidarity.

• Communication Area: defines, plans and develops the institutional communication of the organization and its departments. Manages the Municipality's social channels.
