My name is Valerio Pedroni and since October 2021 I have been elected, with 1093 preferences, city councilor in Milan. He holds the position of president of the Special Commission for the Civil Economy and the Development of the Third Sector. I am also vice-president of the Welfare and Health Commission.

I am a volunteer, a worker, a husband and a father. I have always been passionate about civil commitment and initiatives to defend and enhance the common good.

I was born on 10 October 1977 in Inzago (MI), on the Martesana canal, but I graduated from the University of Milan and began my work history and social commitment in Milan in 2000, moving to Piazza XXV Aprile.

When I got married to Susanna in 2010 we decided that the Isola neighborhood was the right place to try to start a family. And so it was: soon our four children arrived, first Miriam, then Noemi, Giovanni and finally Ester Vittoria.

My story of social commitment begins as a teenager as a summer entertainer in the oratory of my hometown and continues as a volunteer for the Red Cross of Treviglio. In 1996 I met the Somaschi Fathers and began a story in their Foundation, which led me first to take on the role of volunteer in the community for drug addicts of San Zenone al Lambro, and then, at the end of my studies, to be hired as a social worker in the services in defense of women victims of violence.

In over 20 years of commitment with the Fathers and soon taking on a management role, I have had the opportunity to deal with many different forms of social fragility: from domestic abuse of women and children, to people in conditions of serious fragility, to those seeking humanitarian protection and internationally, up to families in situations of social and material poverty.

In 2020, after almost 25 years with the Somaschi Fathers, I decided to welcome the opportunity to cover the role of manager of social programs in Italy in the WeWorld Onlus Foundation, which deals with the defense of those children and women throughout the world. women who are denied dignity and rights.

My willingness to take on a broader responsibility for associative and social cooperation realities led me to become a manager of the Third Sector Forum and of the CNCA Lombardy (National Coordination of Reception Community).

With this role I was involved as a protagonist in the metropolitan city of Milan, carrying out some important initiatives such as the GENERAL STATES OF THE GENERATIVE COMMUNITY, THE THIRD SECTOR UNDER CONSTRUCTION, the PEOPLE (People First) event and LA CIVIL WEEK (with the Corriere della Sera ).

In my role as city councilor I am pursuing various issues:
first of all the one on the civil economy, which led me to work for the approval of the regulation on state property entrusted for purposes of general interest, for the approval of the regulation on shared administration with the third sector, for the resolution for the lines of address on renewable energy communities, the diffusion of the figure of the voluntary guardian for minors without families, the implementation of economic resources for welfare, and much more.
