18 April 2024: garrison at the Palace of Justice
On April 18, 2024, the National Conference of Territorial Guarantors of Persons Deprived of Personal Liberty will disseminate the following: appeal, through the territorial Guarantors, with events and demonstrations that will take place simultaneously in many cities in Italy.
The Guarantor of the rights of persons deprived of personal liberty of the Municipality of Milan organizes a protest on the steps of the Palace of Justice in Milan, to remember the too many deaths by suicide in prison, a month after the intervention of President Mattarella who said "about suicides in prison require urgent interventions."
During the demonstration, the names of the people who committed suicide in prison in 2024 will be read and the Penitentiary Police officers who took their own lives in recent months will be remembered.
The initiative is open to everyone.
