The park in brief

The park was created where an old agricultural poplar grove previously stood and maintains the orderly and regular arrangement of the rows of trees and canals typical of the Lombard countryside. The orchard of flowering apple trees and the aspen trees along the edges also recall the landscape of the Po Valley, while the willows and maples, once used as windbreaks, now act as an acoustic barrier against traffic.
Other trees that can be observed are the cherry tree, the ash tree and the colorful spots of roses along the edges.

The flooring is concrete and the park is periodically monitored by the GEV, the Volunteer Ecological Guards.

The design of the park maintains the memory of the Lombard countryside, with its regular and orderly layout.

The poplar grove has been recreated with the poplar variety with silver leaves and beautiful white bark. The regular, quincencia mesh, typical of agricultural crops in the Po Valley, outlines the structure of the park. The need to create different spaces, such as clearings, groves, play areas, meant that the rows were interrupted, leaving spaces open to ever-changing perspective views. The Lombard countryside is still evoked in the "orchard" of flowering apple trees (Malus 'Red Sentinel') or in the group of aspen trees (Populus tremula) that characterize the two play areas.

Along the perimeter, as in the canals, groups of willows (Salix alba), manna ashes (Fraxinus ornus) and field maples (Acer campestre), once used as windbreaks, form a backdrop of both acoustic and visual protection towards the busy road . Flowers, scents and berries follow one another all year round in the shrubby thickets of black pears, viburnums, hazelnuts and dog roses.

A soft path, paved in limestone, runs through the entire park, marked by four "ladies": oak trees of different varieties which over time will become the monumental elements of this pleasant space.
