The park in brief

Located to the east of the city where the Innocenti-Maserati factory once stood, the Lambretta park is a place that allows you to run and cycle, play with children in dedicated areas or take your dog for a walk. Worthy of attention is the artistic fountain designed by the architect Caccia Dominoni.

The PRU Rubattino Committee is present in the park and is periodically monitored by the GEV, the Volunteer Ecological Guards.

History

The park - also called Parco Maserati - a prevalent part of an Urban Redevelopment Plan (P.R.U. Rubattino), covers a vast area east of Milan which was the site of the Innocenti-Maserati production complex, definitively abandoned in 1993.

In 1997 the Municipality of Milan announced a competition of ideas to redevelop these abandoned areas and the guidelines emerged from the competition, the "first brick" of the actual design of the park.

In July 2004 the first part of the park was completed, characterized by the presence of a residential green area and one intended as a real public park which has as its peculiar element an artificial lake, positioned under the ring road. In addition to the lake, in the Water Park there are large extensions of lawn (56.000 mXNUMX), isolated trees, rows of trees, large shrubby areas, mitigation strips, embankments, ground cover areas and areas equipped for children's play.

A green boulevard, the "plane tree avenue", enriched with children's play areas, leads to via Pitteri, creating a connection with the residences. This is the first phase of the project which overall includes a green area of approximately 320.000 mXNUMX.
