The park in brief

The park, located along the Naviglio Pavese, takes its name from the ancient Chiesa Rossa farmhouse, whose former stable is home to the scenic and bright municipal library of the same name. Among the protected assets present in the park, the ancient Church of Santa Maria alle Fonti should be mentioned.
Once an area rich in streams, springs, ditches and woods, it is now a park where, among rural architecture from around 1100, you can admire the black mulberry, the Japanese medlar, the versicaria, the mountain ash, the persimmon. Thanks to the basketball court and green spaces, various sporting activities can be carried out.

The association is present Red Church Committee.

History and Architecture

The Red Church, a cultural center of very ancient foundation, has always been a natural point of reference for the sociality of the area. Given the importance of the place, the Municipality approved a redevelopment project in 2005 which involves the completion of the park, the recovery of the portico as a future covered square, the construction of pedestrian and vehicular paths, the construction of a fountain, the expansion of the existing play area, the restoration and simplification of the labyrinth garden and the planting of vine, shrub and tree species.
