The park in brief

Near the banks of the Martesana, the “Cassina de Pomm” park was built on the abandoned surface of the Bonomi industry. There are two play areas for children. Within this green space you can practice various activities: running, cycling and even playing bowls, on two tracks. A poplar trees shades the bowling green. It is a garden full of cultural suggestions. A few hundred meters away there is a bridge probably mentioned in the "Betrothed", while the nearby farmhouse that gives it its name is a building with a centuries-old history, also mentioned in Manzoni's novel.

The flooring is self-locking.

The garden, which takes its name from the historic building that stands on the opposite bank of the Martesana and which served as an ancient tavern and hotel, is located on the abandoned area of the Bonomi industry. It represents the result of a compromise between needs related to free time and needs to conserve the greenery and existing artefacts, in particular as regards the relationship with the architectural elements of the Martesana. The space is organized in the southern part with a children's play area, and in the northern part with a bowling green.

The garden is closed, on the sides towards Martesana and via Melchiorre Gioia, by a surrounding wall, with some windows and a non-linear pattern left over from an ancient building; nearby there is an ancient iron bridge called "Leonardo" which crosses the Martesana towards Cassina de' Pomm and which is hypothesized to be the one mentioned in the "Promessi Sposi".
