Tree protection works

The aim of the project is to guarantee the safety of citizens when walking along pavements and roadways, eliminating the differences in height due to the roots of the nearby trees. The green heritage affected by the interventions concerns both the spaces for pedestrian and vehicular transit near green areas, as well as the rows of trees which highlight situations of degradation due to the presence of roots on the surface.

The project involves the replacement of potentially dangerous trees with specimens of a size consistent with the environment in which they are planted, as well as the maintenance of specimens that do not represent a danger to pedestrians or motorists, but require small safety interventions.

The interventions are carried out considering the architectural characteristics of the places and the materials to be used. Therefore, in cases where no need for change is identified, only the replacement of possibly worn materials is envisaged (creasing, driveway and/or pedestrian paving); however, where it is necessary to redevelop spaces for aesthetic-functional reasons, more incisive types of intervention are envisaged.

The works were carried out in 730 days (from 9/3/2015 to 7/8/2017) and affected the 9 Municipalities, according to the following list:
