Municipality 4 – Educational Unit 28

Milan - via Unità, 42

The Hungary Nursery School welcomes girls and boys between 3 and 6 years old divided into 4 sections located on a single floor.

Each section is made up of a maximum of 25 girls and boys and has two reference educators.
In our school, the four sections are "heterogeneous", that is, made up of girls and boys aged 2 and a half, 3, 4 and 5 years.
Each section has its own dedicated space.
In addition to the sections, girls and boys access various educational experiences in the common areas of the service: two lounges and several laboratories.
There is a large garden that embraces the entire structure.

The educational college, coordinated by the Manager, is responsible for the planning and implementation of the educational paths promoted during the year. In the presence of girls or boys with disabilities, the presence of educational support staff is expected.

The auxiliary staff ensures the care and cleaning of the school spaces.

Lunch is provided by Milano Ristorazione which manages its transport and daily delivery.

The section is the privileged place of emotional and relational reference in which girls and boys acquire safety and develop autonomy. It is designed for and with children and is divided into specific and diversified spaces where girls and boys play, discover and experiment together with peers and educators.
Our four sections are called: Rainbow, Droplets, Clouds and Red Sun.
Each section directly overlooks the school garden, the large windows present throughout the structure favor the view of the large garden. The sections overlook a mirror image of a common space, the anteroom.
In the section there is a space dedicated to resting for girls and boys which is also a reading space during the day. The sections were organized with differentiated play spaces.

The common spaces are designed as places to welcome adults and children and are designed to accompany girls and boys in exploring contexts and places even "beyond" their own section. In the common areas, laboratories, ateliers and installations are offered which help girls and boys to experiment with different languages and develop multiple learnings.
In our school, the entrance hall is used for catering for two sections, while the other two have lunch in the classroom. The other lounge is organized for workshops: in the lounge there are multiple spaces of interest: motor, reading/cinema/listening. There is a large painting laboratory, where it is possible to experiment with painting on walls, on the floor, on tables, and a scientific laboratory.

Exploring the "outside", be it a courtyard, the school garden or a neighborhood street, means getting closer and exploring the cycle of life and the seasons, researching nature, gradually getting to know the world we live in, to understand it and learn to take care of it.
In the school there is a large garden that embraces the entire structure. In front of the sections there are cemented spaces that encourage both structured activities and free play.
