Municipality 1 – Educational Unit 2

Milan - via Ruffini, 6/A

The Ruffini Nursery School welcomes girls and boys between 3 and 6 years old divided into 5 sections located on a single floor.

Each section is made up of a maximum of 25 girls and boys and has two reference educators. In our school the 5 sections are "bi-age"; made up of girls and boys of only two ages.

Each section has its own dedicated space.

In addition to the sections, girls and boys have access to various educational experiences in the common areas of the service: 2 lounges, library, theater workshop, nature/science laboratory, REMIDA laboratory, "we are designing for ourselves" laboratory, painting studio. The educational college, coordinated by the Manager, is responsible for the planning and implementation of the educational paths promoted during the year.

In the presence of girls or boys with disabilities, the presence of educational support staff is expected. The auxiliary staff ensures the care and cleaning of the school spaces.

Lunch is provided by Milano Ristorazione which manages its transport and daily delivery

The section is the privileged place of emotional and relational reference in which girls and boys acquire safety and develop autonomy.

It is designed for and with children and is divided into specific and diversified spaces where girls and boys play, discover and experiment together with their peers, teachers and educators. Our 5 sections are called Dolphins, Cats, Squirrels, Fish, Giraffes. Each section directly overlooks a common corridor.

In the section there is a space dedicated to the rest of girls and boys.

The common spaces are designed as places to welcome adults and children and are designed to accompany boys and girls in exploring contexts and places even "beyond" their own section.

The common spaces are organized to promote the development of skills, with a view to global maturation, to allow each boy and girl to be valued in their individuality and specificity.

The lounge is organized for motor games.

Exploring the "outside", be it a courtyard, the school garden or a neighborhood street, means getting closer and exploring the cycle of life and the seasons, researching nature, gradually getting to know the world we live in, to understand it and learn to take care of it.

In the school there is a courtyard equipped with fixed games and 2 shafts used for outdoor activities; set up with natural materials, play structures and tools aimed at scientific and spontaneous research.

Boys and girls have the opportunity to observe, discover, manipulate and transform natural elements and create continuity between the internal laboratories and the external spaces.
