The Giacosa Nursery School welcomes girls and boys between 3 and 6 years old divided into 12 sections located in three pavilions inside the Trotter park: 

  • the first, called the "Lambruschini" pavilion hosts 5 sections on a single floor; 
  • the second, called "Tarra", hosts 3, again on a single floor; a wing of the "Tarra" pavilion hosts the Time for Families service (temporarily suspended); the third, called "Martini", hosts 4 sections, plus the spring section; The secretariat and management offices are also located in this pavilion.

Trotter Park is a public park which is closed from 7.30 am to 15.30 pm and reserved for schools.

Each section is made up of a maximum of 25 girls and boys and has two reference educators.
In our school, 3 sections are "heterogeneous", i.e. made up of girls and boys aged 3, 4 and 5, 8 "bi-age" sections made up of girls and boys of only two ages, 1 section is homogeneous, i.e. made up by children of the same age.
Each section has its own dedicated space.
In addition to the sections, girls and boys access various educational experiences in the common areas of the service: laboratories, reading spaces, multifunctional and multipurpose spaces, school park.
In particular, the multifunctional spaces are transformed annually based on the educational project.

The section is the privileged place of emotional and relational reference in which girls and boys acquire safety and develop autonomy. It is designed for and with children and is divided into specific and diversified spaces where girls and boys play, discover and experiment together with peers and educators.

Our 12 sections are called Cedar, Lime, Pomegranate, Plane, Oak, Ailanthus, Chestnut, Ginkgo, Wisteria, Elm, Maple, Hazel.
Each section directly overlooks the park.
In the section it is possible to create relaxation spaces for children and girls to relax.

The common spaces are designed as places to welcome adults and children and are designed to accompany girls and boys in exploring contexts and places even "beyond" their own section. In the common areas, workshops and installations are offered which help girls and boys to experiment with different languages ​​and develop multiple learnings.


In our school, the multifunctional spaces are organized by laboratories: scientific, digital, environmental, manipulation, symbolic, light, etc.

Exploring the "outside", be it a courtyard, the school garden or a neighborhood street, means getting closer and exploring the cycle of life and the seasons, researching nature, gradually getting to know the world we live in, to understand it and learn to take care of it.

The school is located inside the Trotter park which offers various resources, such as the Farm, the Theatre, the Discovery Room, the Church, the Gardens.
