Municipality 8 - Educational unit 55

Milan - via Cesenatico, 6

The Cesenatico nursery welcomes girls and boys aged between 13 and 36 months and is spread over a single ground floor within a structure which also includes the nursery school of the same name.

The 2 sections are organized in such a way as to accommodate groups of "medium-large" children (children between 13 and 36 months), in balanced numbers and responsive to the specific needs of the age group.

In addition to the sections, girls and boys have access to various educational experiences in the common areas of the nursery: equipped transfer room, painting workshop space, symbolic playhouse space, library reading/project space "book on loan at the weekend", carpenter's corner, corner hairdresser and garden.

Lunch is provided by Milano Ristorazione which manages its transport and daily delivery. Lunch is administered by the educational staff who accompanies girls and boys on their journey of self-knowledge and sensorial experimentation.

The educational college, coordinated by the Manager, is responsible for the planning and implementation of the educational paths promoted during the year. In the presence of girls or boys with disabilities, the presence of educational support staff is expected.

The auxiliary staff ensures the care and cleaning of the nursery spaces.

The section represents the space where girls and boys spend the moments of greatest emotional involvement during the educational day: educators take care of girls and boys and support their growth path through the design of spaces and the setting up of experiences educational.

Our 2 sections are called Arcobaleno and Stelline.

For each section there is a space dedicated to resting for girls and boys, a space for lunch and a space for care and hygiene. The educators, in preparing these spaces and these moments, guarantee an organization of the educational day that is careful to encourage the child's actions, the exploration of spaces and materials and self-care, with the presence and constant accompaniment of the adult.

The sections directly overlook the lounge and the nursery garden.

The common spaces are designed as places to welcome adults and children and are designed to accompany girls and boys in exploring, gradually over the course of the year, contexts and places even "beyond" their own section. The common spaces are designed to promote motor, sensory and laboratory experiences consistent with the developmental stages of girls and boys and gradual over time.

In our nursery, in the lounge, in the space dedicated to the nursery and near the 2 sections, there are workshop spaces dedicated to "medium-large" children, in particular there are: workshop-painting space, symbolic space-house, carpenter's corner and hairdressing corner. Shared with the nursery school there is a motor space, organized with a calendar, which can be used alternatively for parties and meetings with parents.

«Going out», living in larger spaces than the section space, gradually exploring the garden or courtyard means expanding the possibilities of discovery and experimentation and offering gradually more articulated and complex educational paths.

In the nursery there is a large tree-lined garden, equipped with structured games, tricycles and recycled material.
