College goes to kindergarten

“The university goes to kindergarten” is a project born in 2019 from the collaboration between the Municipality and the University of Milan, with the support of Rotary (R4H) and the Milan Community Foundation. The aim is to accompany nursery school children on a learning journey on the most correct lifestyle and eating habits, thanks to the support of university students on three-year degree courses in dental hygiene and dietetics.

The in-person activity was suspended in March 2020 due to the pandemic and now resumes with a new proposal.

Sul project site an interactive blog is active thanks to which parents and children can ask questions about health to Dr. Mariachiara Perrotta (graduated in Dental Hygiene from the University of Milan), every Wednesday morning (from 10:00 to 12 :00). On the portal it is also possible to consult the information material and complete the questionnaire on eating habits.

“University goes to nursery school” is part of a series of initiatives for the promotion of health in nursery schools, such as the “Nidi safe” project which, since 2018, with the collaboration of the Buzzi Foundation and Rotary, trains educational staff on obstruction clearing and emergency management.

The Municipality of Milan adheres to the protocol for the administration of life-saving drugs at school and promotes information meetings for its staff, for the management of conditions such as diabetes, epilepsy, asthma and allergies.
