PRU OM-Pompeo Leoni and new electric bus depot viale Toscana

The areas in question are part of an urban enclosure regulated by the OM-Pompeo Leoni Urban Redevelopment Program.

In fact, in December 1997, the Program Agreement was signed between the Municipality of Milan, the Lombardy Region and the Ministry of Public Works, approving the Urban Redevelopment Program relating to the areas located between via Toscana, via Pompeo Leoni and the Vettabbia canal. 
The objective of the Program was the redevelopment of the former industrial complex once present there, through the creation of a new residential district, integrated with other commercial, production and management functions, as well as the execution of significant works and spaces of public interest, including including a large urban park.
The relevant agreement between the Municipality of Milan and the implementing body was signed on 23 November 1998.

In June 2006, an agreement was signed between the Municipality of Milan and Bocconi University for the establishment of a surface right in favor of the Bocconi Institute on the area owned by the Municipality of Milan in Ripamonti 88 for the construction of a residential building project University. The building, which has a surface area of ​​approximately 12.000 mXNUMX, has been fully constructed.

In October 2008, a Program Agreement was also signed between the Municipality of Milan and the Lombardy Region aimed at the renovation of the buildings located in Via Pompeo Leoni, in which to create educational services and activities, education and job orientation training for young people. The intervention, which affected the area and buildings of the former municipal car park, has been entirely completed.

In May 2015, a Program Agreement was finally signed between the Ministry of Economic Development, the Municipality of Milan and INVITALIA, aimed at the creation of a new business incubator (smartcity lab) within the areas of Ripamonti 88. The building permit was released in May 2018.

The new PGT Milan 2030, which became effective on 5 February 2020, provides for the creation of a depot for electric buses within a portion of the Urban Redevelopment Program and more specifically in the areas overlooking Viale Toscana. .  

To date, therefore, the largest part of the program's forecasts has been implemented but, for the part of the areas located overlooking Viale Toscana and covering approximately 24.000 mXNUMX, the preparation of a redevelopment project aimed at creating a completely innovative space reserved for the creation of the first partially underground depot for electric buses, of absolute technological innovation, aimed at improving the urban public transport system, partially open to citizens, with green spaces and public services in the process of being defined.
