Natta South - Implementation plan

The area subject to the intervention extends between Via Osma, San'Elia, Natta and Trenno. Compared to the urban centre, they are located in the north-west sector of the city, between the Gallaratese district and the QT8 district, near the historic center of Lampugnano and Trenno.

The PA Proposal aims to redevelop a peculiar area of ​​the north-western quadrant of the city, on the edge of the route of the residual QT8 district, not yet affected by a large and intense redevelopment that functionally and morphologically reconnects it to the context and language adjacent. 

Among the objectives that the proposal presents and implements, we note the importance given to the new building complex, as it represents a vital sign of contemporary redevelopment between the built environment and the green landscape.

Among the peculiarities that guided the general layout of the plan, the layout of the planimetric system and the position of the buildings which respects and enhances the street fronts, allowing a mix of private, appurtenant and public areas, in order to reconnect the intervention with the neighborhood. 

The development of the area affected by PA2 is an opportunity to relate the urban objects and the sections included between them, making them communicate effectively with each other, enhancing their different strengths, generating positive externalities not only linked to the new settlement being developed slowly but also by reactivating the neighboring potential present in this area.

The building complex, with a free residential value, is made up of a sequence of buildings that stand adjacent to each other to form a courtyard open onto a large area of ​​private greenery, at the head of which this building, on Via Natta, a higher building is placed, from which the development of lower buildings begins.

The intention is to place the buildings on the street fronts as close as possible, guaranteeing greater volume on via Natta, where the intervention compares with the opposite subway building, reducing the height of the planned buildings along via Trenno, where the intervention area is close to the residential neighborhood; in this way the intervention aims to act as a gradual connection between the existing large-scale buildings to the north and the smaller-scale buildings to the south.

The planimetric system expresses the desire for interpenetration between the built environment and the greenery, and at the same time, between private greenery, relevant greenery and public space.
