Natta Nord - Implementation plan 2

The area subject to the intervention extends between Via Croce and Via Quarenghi, owned by Ediltrenno srl, and between Via Giulio Natta and Via Livio Cambi, owned by the Municipality of Milan, included in the Gallaratese district.

The intervention aims to mend the varied and disintegrated urban fabric through the creation of a public pedestrian axis, set on the location of via Cambi, which favors the creation of a unitary project by systematizing the MM1 metro square Lampugnano, the green areas significantly present in the area and the Gallaratese residential district with the new project elements: a public park, an equipped commercial area and the new Ediltrenno building.

The operator's first interest is the redevelopment of the area with a high added value intervention, of which the new building will be the driving force, functionally integrating with the existing UniCredit buildings, and representing, at the same time, the future development of openness towards the external context and the city. For this reason, the management of access roads and public areas becomes important to offer the due decorum of the places and management of the spaces with sustainable city criteria.

On a qualitative level, the elements characterizing and qualifying the definitive proposal for the implementation plan can be summarized as follows:

  • sale of the grove in via Chiarelli, already made accessible to the community; • reorganization of the public space system of the Lampugnano interchange, with the aim of improving the slow and sustainable mobility system, as well as strengthening the continuity of the ecological and environmental systems;
  • transformation of the existing purification plant into an equipped and fenced park. The park, in the proposal, takes up and enhances the geometries of the purification plant, enhancing the area and preserving its memory. Furthermore, the maintenance of healthy trees is envisaged, increased according to the project by rows of new plantings and by the enhancement of the topography of the park, with patches of flowering shrubs.
  • recomposition of the fabric of relationships and networks in a continuous system that strengthens the quality of existing public spaces;
  • construction of a new building with a tertiary vocation, with the creation on the ground floor of a pedestrian entrance gallery, designed as the fulcrum of the activities of the tertiary buildings, systematized by the new intervention and as the main connection between the Square and via Livio Cambi.
  • preparatory interventions to make the area of ​​via San Romanello, 42 usable at the entrance of the community of carnies coming from via Natta.
