Moneta - Integrated Intervention Program

Integrated Intervention Program (P.I.I.) relating to the area and buildings in via Ernesto Teodoro Moneta, nn. 40-54

The Integrated Intervention Program is located in the area of the north-west quadrant of Milan, in the Affori area and borders to the east with the historical park of Villa Litta, to the north-west with the route of the Ferrovie Nord Milano, to the south- to the west with an operational industrial area and finally to the south with via Moneta.

The P.I.I. is developed with the aim of redeveloping from a functional, environmental and building point of view a sector of almost 4 hectares in size adjacent to the Villa Litta Park and of redeveloping the pedestrian connection system between the area of intervention and the village of Affori.

After the signing of the implementation agreement in 2014, following a change of ownership, the overall structure of the envisaged residential function was reset through the transition from a predominantly free-flow settlement to an almost entirely social housing one.

The project in particular includes:

  • the establishment of new residential functions structured as follows: 60% min. of subsidized residence, 30% max. of ordinary subsidized residence with the obligation of subjective requirements and 10% max. of co-housing, in addition to the provision of a quota of 250 mXNUMX. max. of spaces to be allocated to affiliated services connected to the residence;
  • the expansion of the Villa Litta Park with the arrangement of new green areas for over 16 thousand mXNUMX;
  • the creation of a system of public and public car parks along Via Moneta, as well as the extension/redevelopment of the underground services network;
  • the construction of sidewalks (now almost non-existent) in the initial stretch of via Moneta (converted to one-way);
  • the traffic lights at the Pedroni/Grazioli/Leningrad intersection.

Operation completed

  • Public works taken over.

Following the 2017 reset, the new planivolumetric structure provides for a lowering of the heights of the buildings and their orthogonal distribution with respect to Via Moneta which allows for visual and usable permeability between it and the Park.

The expansion of the Park allows for an extension of the pedestrian path system, as well as the recovery of the Chapel of the Plague victims.

For the connection of the Park with the area to the west of the railway, the Municipality is completing the technical and economic checks for the construction of a cycle/pedestrian walkway, originally foreseen among the works included in the P.I.I.
