Conditions for requesting and executing a TSO

The TSO applies to patients who:

  • they are not aware of their disease state
  • they resist necessary treatment
  • require urgent therapeutic interventions
  • they cannot benefit from out-of-hospital care.

Minor patients or those subject to guardianship
If the patient is a minor or a person subject to guardianship, the parent or person exercising parental authority must go to the Operations Center to draw up an act of consent.

Dangerous conditions
If a patient's condition is dangerous for himself or for others (violent demonstrations, attempted suicide, etc.) it is possible to contact the Police directly to transport him to an emergency room, have him examined and then request any mandatory health treatment.

  1. Written request from the attending physician following a visit to the patient
  2. compliance check and preparation of the necessary administrative documentation by the Local Police Officer on duty
  3. affixing of the initials by the Mayor
  4. subsequent validation visit, carried out by a second doctor belonging to the public health facility
