It is made up of agents who operate mainly in civilian clothes in the risk areas of the city and who carry out investigations and stakeouts aimed at identifying drug dealers and seizing narcotic substances.

It carries out extensive checks on the city's construction sites, where it verifies all authorizations and safety conditions to combat accidents and deaths at work. During the inspections, compliance with the rules from a contractual point of view is also assessed.

It carries out environmental checks to safeguard the territory from illegal landfills, spills on land and aquifers, and pollution in general. The investigations often lead outside the Milan area.

In 2021, on the initiative of Anci, the GOAC of Milan was born together with other similar groups in the main capital cities. It carries out functions and tasks of the Judicial Police in combating the phenomenon of illegal commercial activity with particular regard to the trade of counterfeit and potentially dangerous products for the health of consumers in the sectors of toys, electrical equipment, textiles, cosmetics, drugs, medical devices and related products within the scope of application of the Consumer Code. The interventions, the result of independent initiatives or following reports from companies and citizens, are carried out in collaboration with the Milan Chamber of Commerce and specialized laboratories for checking product safety (IMQ, IISG among others) as well as the anti-counterfeiting offices of the most well-known Italian brands. The group also monitors the network (Social Networks, websites and E-Commerce platforms) in order to prevent or sanction the placing on the market of counterfeit products.

It combats the phenomenon of illegal camps and brings those who have the right to them into the camps authorized by the Municipality. It carries out further investigative activities linked to clearance operations, such as identification and possible repatriation, family composition and, last but not least, all checks relating to vehicles owned.

It is dedicated to all cases that require timely intervention in the city area:

• emergency response and road accidents, with technological instruments suitable for reconstructing the dynamics of the event
• violations of the Highway Code
• protection and control of the territory.

The group includes motorcyclists called Falchi, employed on the occasion of parades, demonstrations, escort services and institutional visits.

The Radiomobile unit also manages the offices: Arrest and Detention Centre, False Documents, Counterfeit Vehicles, Dog Monitoring, TAXI and NCC service control, Divers, Scientific Investigations, Specialist Interventions.

It works closely with the Territorial Health Authority to follow cases of mistreatment of pets and specimens deemed particularly dangerous.

The interventions often result in the animal being entrusted to suitable structures that take care of it. The agents are equipped with equipment for reading identification microchips and carry out a 24-hour service.

Control and preserve urban heritage. He mainly deals with the phenomenon of graffiti and vandalism by writers, particularly on trains and subways.

Given the origin of the authors, often arriving from other European countries, the Unit exchanges information with the police forces of all European capitals. In the past it has carried out operations outside national borders.

It operates in collaboration with the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Milan.

It works in close collaboration with the Public Prosecutor's Office, the Juvenile Court and other territorial institutions/associations. It deals with all those crimes that affect the weakest subjects: abuse, gender violence, stalking, pedophilia, etc.

The agents intervene following a report or formal complaint - even anonymously - and work closely with a network of services offered by the Municipality of Milan: from legal protection to psychological support.

The team is made up of specialists selected for their aptitude and predisposition for the particular work to be carried out. All victims are guaranteed absolute discretion and maximum protection.

Competes with ATM staff in carrying out multiple activities:

• presence on public transport to prevent disruptive or dangerous behaviour, bag snatching and pickpocketing
