SEE ME IN

Social Entrepreneurship as an Enabling environment for Migrants' Employment and Integration

The project
As part of the European initiative “Third Call for Proposals” of the territorial cooperation program INTERREG CENTRAL EUROPE, the “SEE ME IN” project (Social Entrepreneurship as an Enabling environment for Migrants' Employment and Integration) aims to improve the integration of individuals with a migratory background in the Central Europe area, creating an attractive ecosystem for all forms of entrepreneurship, consequently strengthening their financial sustainability.

Partnership:

  • Polytechnic Foundation of Milan as leader
  • the Gino Mattarelli Cooperative Group
  • the municipality of Milan
  • The School of Advanced Social Studies in Nova Gorica (SL)
  • The ACT Group (HR), The Association Social Economy Slovenia (SL)
  • The IFKA Public Benefit Non-Profit Ltd. for the Development of the Industry (HU)
  • the Municipality of Nova Gorica (SL)
  • The Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HU)
  • Aiforia GmbH (DE).

  •  develop and test an innovative work-life balance strategy centered on two programs: one dedicated to unemployed women and the other aimed at companies and their workers;
  •  improve the skills and knowledge of key actors involved in the work-life reconciliation process in order to make them more aware and implement innovative measures;
  •  develop a sustainable multi-level and multi-stakeholder partnership model in order to create an integrated model;
  •  promote knowledge and sharing of experiences among the various participating subjects; facilitate access to information on social protection rights through the creation of "parental kits" which will include information sheets, the Masp guide, credentials for access to a digital platform.

  • Contribution to all the main activities of the project, such as:
  • the in-depth analysis of the context of entrepreneurship in the areas involved, which includes a legal and social framework of the context and a mapping of existing businesses, including number of employees, turnover, prevailing sectors, services and production;
  • an in-depth study of the migrant entrepreneurship sector to analyze managerial models and practices used in the relevant sectors, the products and services, the needs to respond, the markets they work on and the potential markets they could access;
  • an analysis of training needs with the aim of increasing the entrepreneurial knowledge of immigrants through training courses and seminars;
  • The development of an inclusive and cohesive HUB model where entrepreneurs can thrive and grow (e.g. incubators where local businesses can work with the businesses of the beneficiaries of the intervention in a situation of mutual exchange and learning);
  • The testing of a modular and flexible ICT pilot platform using Cloud Computing and open source services that provides integrated tools for the creation of hubs/incubators for businesses, particularly in urban environments;
  • The development of a B2B digital platform which on the one hand encourages a mutual exchange of experiences and knowledge between the entrepreneurs benefiting from the intervention and those already consolidated and on the other encourages online learning through ad hoc training courses;
  • The management and communication of project activities and the results obtained among the main stakeholders through dissemination and diffusion events.
  • Test the tools and concepts developed in the context of the project, fine-tune them and then use them.

See Me In implements an integrated approach to minimize the effects of the lack of social networks and the distance of the institutions responsible for economic development on the part of entrepreneurs from third countries. The mix of entrepreneurial, managerial and digital training used in the project shortens the competitiveness gap with native companies.

See Me In it allows the public administrations involved to better understand the socio-economic segment in question and improve the decision-making process that leads to the definition of better public policies.
