Project
The project's main objective is the establishment of a new paradigm of school catering that focuses on the fundamental relationship between nutrition, public health and territorial resilience. The project aims to influence the transition to a system of healthy and sustainable school diets on a large social scale, impacting over 3.000 schools and 500.000 students in 12 European countries.

Aims
The project aims to: 
• Guarantee healthy and sustainable school meals through innovative public procurement solutions; 
• Contribute to the establishment of a healthy and sustainable food system through school education; 
• Raise awareness, make responsible and train cooks and school canteen workers on the relationship 
• between nutrition, health and sustainability; 
• Carry out an impact assessment of all project outcomes holistically and taking into account the entire food chain; 
• Amplify project objectives and results through convincing communication and dissemination.

Actions
As part of the project, the Municipality of Milan will undertake to mainly carry out the following activities: 
• contribution as a partner to the correct management of the project and reporting;
• contribution and support to the exchange of good practices, communication and dissemination of results, also within the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact network;
• development of a local pilot action which will be developed within the project with the involvement of Milano Ristorazione as a connected third party.

Expected results
• Demonstrate innovative systemic solutions that have the potential to generate significant positive impacts by 2030;
• Contribute significantly to the achievement of the objectives and targets of the Farm to Fork strategy and the European Green Deal;
• Gain greater awareness among policy makers, businesses, investors, entrepreneurs, institutions, stakeholders and citizens regarding the selected innovative systemic solutions, their potential and the requirements to promote and achieve their European-wide adoption and behavioral change.
