Collecting subscriptions for referendums and popular initiative proposals

In the relevant municipal offices it is possible to sign:

  • national popular referendums, for the total or partial repeal of a law or an act having the force of law (art. 75 of the Constitution)
  • constitutional referendum (art. 138 of the Constitution)
  • proposals for proactive citizen referendums
  • popular initiative legislative proposals (art. 71, paragraph 2 of the Constitution).

The filing of forms for the collection of subscriptions in support of referendum e popular initiatives of a national nature must be accompanied by a letter to the mayor with which to formally request the availability of the spaces (offices) and staff (employees appointed pursuant to art. 14 of law 53/90 and subsequent amendments, with deed signed by the mayor), so that citizens can sign the proposal at the municipal offices.
