Extraordinary works to improve rainwater drainage

The Municipality of Milan and MM have planned an extraordinary intervention in the underpass of Viale Rubicone at the Via Senigallia intersection aimed at strengthening the road rainwater drainage network, scheduled from 2 November 2020.

The intervention which impacted the road network of the SS 35 Milan-Meda towards Como has been completed.

Being a job of a certain complexity, the processes were divided into several phases.

A second phase of the intervention is underway which develops in the green area between Viale Rubicone, Via Senigallia and Via Oroboni which currently has no impact on traffic.

The works are part of an extraordinary action plan for the care and strengthening of the safety systems of the underpasses in terms of water management, with the aim of adapting them to the new rainfall scenario.
Furthermore, it is developed with a view to the digital evolution of the systems, in a remote automation and remote control network capable of constantly monitoring in real time and at a distance, the functioning of the systems and the intensity of the rain, by the operations center of Civil Protection of the Municipality of Milan and of the operations center of the Milanese water system of MM.
