Area B | Exceptions for Armed Forces, Institutions and Non-Profit Organizations

They are exempted from the access and transit ban, in force from 7.30 am to 19.30 pm, on weekdays, from Monday to Friday, without prejudice to regional prohibitions, with the obligation to register the license plate and request for an exemption, to be made before accessing the ZTL, the categories of vehicles, listed below, not recognizable by the automatic access detection: 

- Armed forces
- Police forces
- Local police
- Hospitals
- Health Protection Agencies (ATS)
- Fire fighters
- Recognized organizations operating in the field of civil protection

Documents to attach on profile registered in Area B:

  • vehicle registration certificate (in the case of organizations operating in the field of Civil Protection, "the use of Civil Protection" must be indicated on the registration certificate);
  • delivery report in the case of leased or rental vehicles.

- Bodies recognized by the municipal administration of Milan or by other relevant institutions, which act in the social and health care sector for the provision of free first aid and public assistance services whose place of service is within the Municipality of Milan

- Associations that carry out recognized first aid activities or planned or emergency socio-medical transport.

Documents to attach on profile registered in Area B:

  • vehicle registration certificate
  • delivery report in the case of leased or rental vehicles
  • conventional deed signed between the Municipality of Milan or another institution and association.

The exemption can be issued for a maximum of one year from the first day of inclusion in the Area B online service until the legal availability of the vehicle exists. Upon expiry it must be renewed independently via the Area B portal
